The only drawback is that most of these conversions include major clearancing of the firewall to fit a v8 (mine has a 460 c.i. Ford) . The frame is much stiffer but is also much heavier than the original. I have also seen a 56 on a late 70s bronco frame, it looked great and fit nice.
