As far as I understand the only difference between a 305 and a 350 is the cylinder bore and piston size so a cam from a 305 should work in a 350
This person is correct in that the measurements of the bore and stroke the only difference is the bore. where they are wrong is that the internal balance weight is different and usually the journal size is different.
As for a direct replacement, no it will not work, but with the help of a machine shop and some money it will work. However your money is better spent getting the right crank.
no
It is 3.48 inches, the same as the Chevy 350 crankshaft.
Is a 2.8 liter engine a 305?
A 350 crankshaft can physically fit into a 305 engine block, as both are small block Chevy engines and share similar dimensions. However, using a 350 crankshaft in a 305 will alter the engine's displacement and compression ratio, which may require modifications to the engine's components and tuning. It's important to ensure compatibility with other parts like pistons and connecting rods for optimal performance. Always consult with an engine expert or mechanic for specific guidance on such modifications.
There is no information on the internet about what the special feature of the Chevy 305 engine is, in fact, the Chevy 305 and 350 are interchangeable, one is just an older model.
Yes but you might have to change the driveshaft
no ,the 1986 and up blocks have a one piece rear main seal and will not fit in the earlier blocks.gmjim
No. The length is ok, but the journals are different.
yes
Chevy didn't make a 306. A 302, 305, and 307, all of which will work just fine.
yes
5.0L is a 305. 5.7L is a 350
