12 valve it is on the front of the engine, above the crankshaft pulley. 24 valve it is behind the starter, in the side of the block.
Won't be an easy fit.. the Cummins is an inline six, with a much longer block. You'll almost certainly have to go to electric fans.

It is typically found on the driver's side of the engine, towards the rear, and is screwed into the block. Lower driver side of the block, just behind the engine mount, very near the starter.
Factory location was driver side of the block, above the starter. New location is in the fuel tank.
