Generally yes but but two very important points.
First, the T5 will only fit a 1998 3.8L v6 Mustang, not the v8 model which uses a T45.
Second, the input shaft and input shaft bearing retainer from the 1987 mustang need to be changed over to parts from a 1994-2004 t-5 transmission. Also, in 1987 the T5 was used in the 4cyl and 5.0 models. I would suggest using one from a 5.0 model because it is built to handle more torque. The 4cyl T5 risks being too weak.
Yes it will the trans will bolt to the t5 bellhouseing and the v6 belhouseing will bolt 2 the5.0
T5 and this is what the Mustang was called in Europe because Ford couldn't get the rights to Mustang. You can find some classic Mustangs labeled "T5" that GIs brought back and they want extra for them.

According to the 2003 Ford Mustang Owner Guide : 4.6 liter manual transmission ( MERCON automatic transmission fluid )
I believe you are referring to either a t5 or a t150 transmission. So the answer is no, a t15 will not fit.
No, you should not use Mobil 1 transmission fluid in a 2000 Mustang T5 transmission. The T5 typically requires specific manual transmission fluid, such as ATF or a dedicated manual transmission fluid, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations. Using the incorrect fluid can lead to poor performance and potential damage to the transmission. Always refer to the owner's manual for the correct fluid specifications.
sure it can be done if you have the money and the knowledge.
