It can, but you should trust the computer diagnostics in a situation like that.
A bad throttle position sensor, on your 1991 Saturn, will cause the engine to run rough when it is idling. The engine will run normally at higher speeds.
A bad coolant temperature sensor is one thing that could cause an idling speed problem with a Peugeot 406. There could also be a problem with the idle control valve.
A failing throttle position sensor will cause idling problems when the car is warm. The failing sensor can also cause the car to stall when idling.
yes
Actually, Saturn S series vehicles do not make use of a Air Flow sensor..... They do on the other hand have a Ambient Air Temperature sensor located in the lower portion of the air filter box. This can cause poor vehicle performance if it has failed.
Bad Engine Coolant Temperature SEnsor.
Faulty coolant temp sensor can cause the vehicle to run poorly, if run at all. If you are leaning toward replacing the sensor you will be happy to know the sensor is relatively cheap, around $12, and simple to replace. Please visit my Bio for a link to my saturn help site for image of where the coolant temperature sensor is located.
It is the idling sensor on top of the intake
Mapp sensor or you might need pugs and wires.
Yes. The composite/plastic tips crack. This in turns causes the wire connection to corrode. Replace it with an updated brass tipped version from saturn. Clean the connection or replace it if neccessary. It is also availlable from saturn.
Yes, a bad O2 sensor would cause a 2002 Dodge Dakota to stall. It would also cause bad fuel mileage and hard idling within the vehicle.
The throttle position sensor (tps) could make the rpms vary.
