Yes, a bad ignition coil / misfire will cause an unburned mixture of gas/air to go into cat converter which will than combust in it and cause damage to either catalitic converter, oxygen sensor(s) or both.

No spark would usually be the ignition coil.
yes a camshaft senson can take out the module, coil and vice versa
yes this does this to stop u from doing damage to the engine
The ignition coil that is suitable for the hall sensor ignition must have a yellow label.
Temperature can cause damage to the ignition coil. Temperature which is above 150 degrees Celsius can cause a great damage to it.
there is two main things that will cause an elantra to have no spark the ignition coil pack or the crankshaft sensor
The ignition failure sensor in an 01 Stratus RT is located above the condenser. It is near the ignition coil. ?æ
A BAD CRANK SENSOR WILL CAUSE NO SPARK AND NO PULSE SIGNAL TO FUEL INJECTORS a bad ignition module will cause no spark its located under the ignition coil trio pack
test ignition coil,ignition module,pick-up coil,electronic spark control,and knock sensor
I would say you have to check your coil packs, and ignition module to see if they are firing on all cylinders, and have the correct spark. Anything but a bright blue spark means a weak coil. The ignition module can be tested at some parts stores.
The 2.2L Ecotech engine does not have a Camshaft Position Sensor. It has a unique type of ignition system which consist of Ignition Module, Ignition Coil Assembly, and a Crank Sensor.
Yes it very well could, because a misfiring coil pack or weak coil pack can cause interruptions in the signals to both the camshaft position sensor into the crankshaft position sensor. I had this happen on my Buick LeSabre, it gave a code 18, which is Cam / crank position sensor error okay. I replaced all three coil packs, and it went away and never came back. If you look at the diagram for the wiring of your ignition control module, you'll see that the coil packs, ignition control module, and camshaft and crankshaft position sensors are all interconnected.
