That depends to a large extent on what the condition is right now. If the firearm is in good condition, with a significant percentage of its original finish left, then it it probably best to give it a good cleaning then leave it alone. If it is in poor condition with very little of its original finish left, and the work is done by competent gunsmith, then restoration is probably worthwhile, although you would probably not recover your investment.
The value of a model 42-365K Philco radio that works and has no damage other than having a cabinet that needs refinishing can range between $400 and $700.
Refinishing an old vase will very much be benificial and won't lower the value of your vase at all.
Well, I'm sure refinishing can have its benefits, such as keeping your old furniture, but it all boils down to the value of the furniture itself. If it has high sentimental value, you might consider refinishing rather than replacement.
Seems like I've seen the Model 11a autoloaders for sale at $350-$500 depending upon condition. Original finishes in good consition raise the value. Refinishing detracts as does poor condition.
It depends on the quality of the antique. If it is of high quality and in demand, refinishing it might diminish it's value. I would check with your local antique shop.
Condition?
