Try this first: Take a coping saw blade, cut an end off of it, grind down the back side that is opposite of the teeth down. Grind it for about 2 1/2 " on a bevel until the end is almost at a point, but teeth are still there. wrap electrical tape on the non-grounded part of the blade to use for a handle. Now you should be able to fish the broken key shaft out fairly easy. BCLEAR.
