The fan must run,or the motor will overheat. My 95 sc1 was overheating. The fan was not comming on. So I ran test wires to the battery and the fan came on.Must be a bad relay somewhere.So I ran wires from the fan to a switch I installed on the dash.Anytime the temperature gets near halfway,I turn on the fan and it drops to a quartar.
