It is emission related. Pull the codes from the computer, match the code to the troubleshooting procedure, follow the procedure to find the source. Repair the source, light will go out if that was the only problem. There are "monitors" or self tests the computer runs the car through a drive cycle, if a problem occurs, it may not run all of the self tests until that problem is taken care. Therefore, another problem may exist. OR hook up a scanner that is capable of clearing codes, and hope that none are still active.

First, I'm not a mechanic. however, my experience with the same problem may give insight for you regarding my 2001 Nissan Fronter XE. It was meticulously maintained under warranty scheduling. The first time the light went on early in my truck's life-computer saw nothing, dealership said it was unusual for the young age of the vehicle, cleared the codes, light off. The second time-computer diagnosis approx. 50,000 mi, charged for computer diagnosis, nothing determined, reset the computer, light off afterwards. Third time, approx 1000 mi later, light went on, dealership going to charge for computer reset again and I reminded them they'd done that recently. They then decided that it was the catalytic converter. I don't know why this wasn't determined through all the other computer checks. Maybe the computer checks can't detect malfunction of the converter so everything else has to be fixed and then there's a leap of faith? Replaced the catalytic converter - no light and into 135000 mi. Good Luck.

What is the refrigerant capacity of the 2004 Nissan Frontier?

The refrigerant capacity for the air conditioning system of a 2004 Nissan Frontier is typically around 1.5 pounds (or approximately 24 ounces) of R-134a refrigerant. However, it's always best to consult the owner's manual or a service manual for the specific model to confirm the exact capacity, as it may vary slightly depending on the engine type or configuration. Properly checking the system with a gauge is also recommended when servicing.
