It could be 1 of 4 things. 1.Bad solenoid, 2. Discharged battery, 3. bad battery connections,4. bad connections at the solenoid.
Weak battery or bad starter solenoid. Possibly a bad battery cable or corroded connection.

if you take the thermostat out of houseing and the opening temp should be on it , around 88 degrees opening
Old fan belt. Try replacing it.
Check your battery cable that runs down to your starter. It could be loose or corroded. Try to tighten it up. Even better take it off, use some sandpaper and clean it to bare metal. Then put it back on good and tight and that might solve your problem. If not it's probably your starter.
What kind of Nissan is it? I believe most were Fuel injected by 88. Some, like the D21 and Pathfinder were throttle body injected, so people confuse them with carbs.
Several models were equipped with an anti-theft device. You have to turn on the Left turn signal before attempting to start the car.
please describe why it wont start? if it doesnt crank check the battery, battery cables etc, if it cranks but does not start. verify that you have spark, and fuel. try wiggling the cps wires if no spark.
Door lock rod retainerany part store will carry these, if out of stock the dealer will definitely have them
try checking the ignition or celenoid I would try checking the fuel pump safety shut off switch. Optional Answer Give it some either
