Speaker of the House - Nancy Pelosi
To clear up some of your confusion... The Speaker of the House is in charge of the House of Representatives. The Speaker is always the leader of the party with the most seats (currently the Republicans, until recently the Democrats). The Speaker has the power to preside over debate in the House, but usually doesn't do this, and instead members of their party will take it in turns to do the presiding. As the Republicans are currently in charge, the current Speaker is a Republican called John Bohner. After the Speaker, the most important members of the House are the Majority Leader (currently a Republican) and Minority Leader (currently a Democrat). The Minority Leader is currently Nancy Pelosi, and she is the leader of the House Democrats. Until recently, John Boehner was the Minority Leader and Nancy Pelosi was the Speaker, but they swapped positions after the previous election. On the other hand, the Majority Leader, currently Eric Cantor, is not in charge of the House Republicans (that's the Speaker's job) but serves as their second-in-command. If the President and Vice President both die, the Speaker of the House becomes President.
