Well, I highly doubt that anyone has recently or previously tried to assassinate President Obama. But if someone has recently or previously tried to assassinate President Obama, news-casters would report the incident on the national news networks, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc.

∙ 11y agoAll presidents receive such threats, and sad to say, there have been several instances where white supremacists or people who seemed to be mentally ill tried to carry out an assassination plot against President Obama. One incident occurred in late 2011 when a man named Oscar Ortega-Hernandez made threats and tried to shoot at the White House with an assault rifle. But his and other efforts were not successful and those who made the attempt were arrested.

If you mean did any President ever try to steal while he was in the White House, the answer is no. There has never been any evidence that the president tried to steal. If you mean has anyone ever pilfered anything that belonged to the White House, I am sure that staff members from time to time have carried things off. A particularly likely time would be during transition when a new president is moving in and an old president and his staff are moving out.
