Senate belongs to the legislative branch. That branch is made of two parts. The Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate has 100 people, to from each state. While the House has 435 people who come from districts in each state. The number of people that the House is decided by population, so the states with the larger populations have more House members.TOGETHER they are called Congress.
Not sure, but it would be nice to see them work together for the country benefit and stead of their own. I'm tired of polition beaning bought by the rich that will help their wealth. I've lost all respect for our government, it should be for the people not for them. I wish today polition were likr our forefathers they were for the people.
The answer depends on several factors such as the party of the key senator, the make-up of the Senate, the reasons against the appointment ,the quality of the nominee and the relation of the President with the Senate.
