Contact the society and inquire about purchasing a license. The fee must be paid in advance of releasing your recording to the public for sale or broadcast. The amount depends on the length of the recording and the number of copies of that recording you intend to make available. For example, you must pay more if you intend to produce 2000 copies of a CD rather than 500. If you record an extended version of a song, a 5 minute recording will cost you more than a 3 minute version. If you dub 1000 copies of the recording, but only sell 20, too bad. You won't get a refund. Once you have a license to record, you are free to keep any profits you make. Radio stations will not play your recording unless you have that license.
