The nationalistic aspirations of subject minorities were most threatening to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This multi-ethnic empire faced significant challenges from various national groups, including Czechs, Slovaks, Serbs, and Croats, who sought greater autonomy or independence. Their demands for self-determination contributed to internal tensions that ultimately weakened the empire and played a role in its dissolution after World War I.

The boycott of the stamp act was the most famous reaction of the patriots (not to mention one of the first) and caught the attention of the British empire. This is an arguable subject, but I'd consider it logical to consider the boycott as the most effective because it was the first protest and the one that sparked the most extreme reactions by the patriots towards the British. Most of which involved getting hammered and burning down buildings or threatening enforcers with effigies hung on trees by the neck.
