∙ 14y agoEisenhower created the interstate highway system so that during a time of crisis (such as an invasion of the US) troops could be moved around easier it also served as a convenience to all Americans because it offered a less time consuming way to drive long distances... the interstate highway system was inspired by the German autobahn.
