Paul Revere made a midnight ride to warn the people in Lexington and Concord, though he only got word to Lexington. He met up with two other men, a man named William Dawes and a doctor named Samuel Prescot. All three were captured by a British roadblock. Prescot and Dawes escaped. Dawes was thrown from his horse and unable to continue the ride. Only Prescot was able to warn the colonists. What many people do not know is that they acually shouted "the regulars are out" or "the redcoats are coming" not " the British are coming".
