If the Mayflower Compact had not been written, the Pilgrims may have faced greater challenges in establishing a functional government and maintaining order within their new colony. Without a formal agreement to create a government and abide by its rules, conflicts could have escalated among settlers, leading to chaos and potential disbandment. The absence of this foundational document might have weakened their resolve and ability to cooperate, ultimately jeopardizing their survival and the success of the Plymouth Colony.
The Pilgrim leaders would have come up with a different government document.

The Mayflower Compact emphasizes a form of self-governance based on the consent of the governed, reflecting a foundational principle of equality among the settlers. It established a framework where decisions were made collectively, suggesting that all individuals had a voice in governance. This commitment to mutual agreement and shared responsibility likely influenced the democratic ideals in the U.S. Constitution, promoting the concept of equality and representation in government.
If there wasn't a Mayflower Compact, then many people might have stayed in Europe instead of coming to the New World. People had to sign this agreement before they could board the ship in Europe. People would still have found a way to come to the New World on another ship, though.

The term "mayflower" typically refers to the flowering plant or the historical ship associated with the Pilgrims. Its opposite could conceptually be "wilted flower," representing a state of decline or death as opposed to blooming. Alternatively, if considering the ship, the opposite might be "storm" or "sink," indicating chaos or disaster as opposed to the safe passage represented by the Mayflower.
