The Provincial Congress
Samuel Adams role prior to 1774 can best be described as pragmatist.
1774 is the date
The Intolerable Acts, also known as the Coercive Acts, were passed by the British Parliament in 1774 as a response to the Boston Tea Party.
The Quebec Act of 1774 expanded the boundaries of Quebec, allowing it to include the Ohio Valley and recognized the rights of Catholics to practice their religion freely, which was significant for the largely Catholic population. It also established a colonial government without a representative assembly, which angered many American colonists who valued self-governance. This act was perceived as an attempt to strengthen British control and diminish colonial autonomy, contributing to rising tensions that fueled the American Revolution.
