It was May 30, 1539, when De Soto and his ten ships finally arrived. They searched four years for silver and gold, until they got sick of Florida, cause this was getting old. They checked the Cherokees, Creeks, and Appalachians, but Hernando died on his last exploration. (Of course it was his last exploration, he died!) lucky him he found gold and silver

Hernando de Soto.
Hernando Cortez
Hernando Cortez sailed on a Ship known as the Caravel. A caravel is a small, highly agile ship industrialized in the 15th century by the Portuguese to travel around along the West African coast and into the Atlantic Ocean. The ship sails gave her pace and the power to sail against the wind.
Spanish Florida had no defined boundaries, but included areas in Cuba and Florida. The territory's governor during the early 1500s was Hernando de Soto.
