The colonists did NOT "sing" the Mayflower Compact (though lyricists/ artists in recent times have made songs using the Compact's words as lyrics, for teaching tools for kids)! The Pilgrims did SIGN it. It was their first governing document with entering the New World. The word compact meant an agreement. All had to agree to how they would govern themselves.
