Until the 1850 to 1860, many slave owners had less than 100 slaves. In the 1700s, all states allowed slavery and white farmers treated black slaves very harsh.
All slaves were set free after the Civil War and slavery was banned in every state for the present and future.
A rebellion lead by black slave Julian Fedon started in 1795, and for a year and a half, slaves were set free or ran away and joined the rebellion. But when it ended in 1796, the British regained control and slavery was once again put into action until 1834, when slavery was abolished for good.
