The three branches, Legislative, Executive, and Judicial, are important because it limits the power of this nation to groups of people, and not one person. There is a system called "checks and balances" to make sure that one branch can't overthrow the other two. So three branches are important to make sure that one single person isn't leading the country, for the Constitution says otherwise.
