The first thing you need to do is make sure the lamb is warm and fed. You can milk out colostrum from the any ewe who has give birth within the previous 24 hours and tube feed the lamb 2oz. every 2-4 hours. Until the lamb is able to suckle you need to continue tube feeding. I use the AireVent baby bottle with a stage 3 nipple with great success. You can also use the black nipples that fit on top of a pop bottle that you can get at a local farm supply store. If the lamb just doesnt want to suckle you can try to put a pan of mild in the pen with it and see if it would drink that way. I have about 50% of my bottle babies learn to eat or prefer to eat from a bowl or bucket.
