just the same way we do, the male's penis is just hidden. i have a couple of fire belly newts myself, they will reproduce if you have a male and female, but it will be very hard to catch. they might just look stacked on top of eachother like they sometimes do. you have to watch carefully if you reall want to know.

Newts mate underwater. The male drops and spore packet and lead the female over the packet. The female body absorbs the pack and fertilizes the eggs before they are laid.
