This all depends on the species. Some frogs, especially desert-dwelling species where the tadpole's pools may only last a few days, have completed metamorphosis in under a week. Some tadpoles take three or four years (Rana species in America in mind but there are others). For the Common Green Tree Frog/White's Tree Frog (Litoria caerulea) which is my personal favourite species:

36 hours for the eggs to 'hatch'. The black dots inside the jelly develop into tadpoles which wriggle free of the gel.

4 weeks - back legs start growing.

10 weeks - back legs finished growing.

12 weeks - first front leg

1 day after first front leg - second front leg. Within a few days the tadpole will take on a frog's shape, stop eating and start to reabsorb its tail. It will become a much weaker swimmer and will need to be able to get out of the water. ^ This is the development of a relatively fast-growing Australian species that takes about 3-4 months to complete development under OPTIMUM CONDITIONS - this is, as much food as the tadpoles can eat, clean water changed daily, water kept warm but not too hot. These conditions are seldom perfect in the wild, resulting in the death of well over 60% of the clutch before metamorphosis and much slower growth in most instances.

How long does it take for a frog to be born?

The time for eggs to hatch varies among species, as does the time for the hatched tadpole to complete metamorphosis into an adult frog.

How many weeks does it take for a tadpole to become a frog?

It takes approximatly one month for tadpoles to turn into adult frogs.

Your tadpole has not changed into a frog?

How long has it been since you got the tadpole? Do you know it's age? Is it really a tadpole? The time it takes for a frog to undertake metamorphosis from a tadpole to a frog is about 24 hours.

How long does it take for a leopard tadpole to become a leopard frog?

Leopard frogs may live up to 9 years in the wild, although very few leopard frogs will live for this long. Most mortality occurs as a tadpole or newly transformed froglet, when as many as 95% will die.

How long does it take for an aquatic frog tadpole to evolve into frog?

It depends on the species. The bigger the frog the longer it takes. A tiny tree frog could take a onth or two, and a huge bullfrog could take five months.

What are the stages in the growth of a frog?

From juvenile to adult, a frog undergoes a process known as metamorphosis. In chronological order, the stages of a frog's life cycle are:eggtadpolefrogletfrogThe frog lays its eggs, which is called frogspawn - a jelly-like substance containing thousands of eggs, which floats on the surface of the water. The eggs hatch into tadpoles, with gills, a spiracle (breathing hole) and fins. At this stage, it eats only waterweeds and aquatic vegetation.Gradually, metamorphosis occurs, with the back legs growing first, followed by the front legs. Lungs take over the function of the gills, as pulmonary breathing begins. When the tadpole has all four legs but still has its tail, it is called a froglet. The tail continues to shrink, and once the tail disappears, it is a frog. As a frog, it becomes insectivorous, with some types carnivorous, eating small mammals.

How long does it take for a polliwog to grow into an adult frog?

It all depends on species. Some species, such as the red-eyed tree frog, leopard frog, and other common medium-sized species, egg to adult, eggs hatch at different times depending on species, ( although the lowest I know about is hatching a week after fertilization) and then tadpole to froglet for those species is about 7-9 weeks, then froglet to adult is I'm not sure, but I think it's a couple of months. For bullfrogs, you will probably be waiting a while, my friend. I don't know how long it takes them to hatch, but I know that these huge tads take up to 2 years to develop into a froglet. And then I don't know how long it takes them to reach adulthood.

How long does it take for a frog to give birth?

Frogs don't give birth - they lay eggs. The eggs hatch in just a few days. Most of their development happens after the eggs hatch.

How long does it take for a leopard frog tadpole to grow legs?

It typically takes about 6-9 weeks for a leopard frog tadpole to grow its hind legs. The front legs usually develop a week or two after the hind legs. At this stage, the tadpole is undergoing metamorphosis into a frog.

What is the gestation period of a tree frog tadpole to a tree frog?

The length of frog development from egg to tadpole to frog usually takes between 6 to 12 weeks. But it is also temperature dependent, so during cold spells it may take a bit longer or even be suspended till the temperatures go up.

How long does it take to turn into an adult bull frog if they are in a egg?

Does a frog's young look like baby frogs when born?

A frog's tadpole doesn't look like the parents. The tadpole has to stay in water until it develops into an adult frog. As a frog it can leave the water and breath air, returning to the water whenever it wants.
