The Japanese Giant Salamander Is A Lazy Carnivore And Does Not Hunt Like It's Larger Relative, The Chinese Giant Salamander. The Japanese Giant Salamander Is Either An Ambush Hunter Or A Hunter That Mainly Eats Smaller Things Dropping In The Water. They Mainly Eat Japanese Giant Hornets, Japanese Mantises, Asian Honey Bees, Flies, Introduced Western Honey Bees, Long Horned Beetle And Stick Insects That Fall To The Water. They Also Might Eat Fish, Frogs, Other Salamanders, Toads, Newts, Lizards, Snakes, Small Mammals And Even Birds. They Are Not Fussy Eaters, Even Though They Are Lazy.
