Green tree frogs are not actually green. They just appear green.

Frogs have no green pigmentation in their skin at all. Like mammals, they are unable to produce green pigment. Mammals, reptiles and amphibians can only produce black and yellow-red pigment, and all colours and patterns on a frog's skin are the result of different combinations of these two pigments.

Frogs contain variations of the yellow-red pigment. Most species of frogs appear green because of the pattern of refraction of blue light by special cells in their skin blending in with this yellow pigment.
