That was only from the movie. I believe you are talking about Hercules. Hercules killed his first wife and the second accidentally poisoned him and he died.
Odysseus traveled to the underworld so that he could talk to Thiresias who had been dead for several years. Thiresias was a great fore teller and could tell Odysseus how to get back to Ithaca.
He fell off a roof and died, and traveled to the Underworld the same way every spirit does.

Orpheus wasn't a god. His story was that his wife died and he wanted her back, so he went to the Underworld to get her back. He almost succeeded, but when Alecto (a Fate) led her out of the Underworld , she walked behind Orpheus, and he was instructed NOT to look back, he must trust that Alecto really was leading his wife out of the Underworld. Of course, he looked back, and it really was his wife. They both died happily ever after.

Hades permitted him to take his wife back but in one condition, that while he and his wife ascend above, he must never look back down to his wife or he'll lose her forever. So as they went up, Orpheus was afraid that Eurydice wasn't with him and he had to look back to his wife to see if she was there, but she was and he lost her forever.
Hades ruled the Underworld with his wife, Persephone.
The musician Orpheus is storied to have traveled to Hades to retrieve his wife, Eurydice. He was instructed to lead his wife out of Hades, with the stipulation that he not look back. He did look back and lost her.
