Greek Mythology is around 1000 years earlier. Also, according to each mythology, the world started differently. Sure, the names may be the same, and heroes are similar, each mythology shows different aspects of the culture.
The Greek and Roman gods are the same people but with different names. When the Gods changed into they're roman forms (Ex. Zeus=Jupiter, Poseidon=Neptune, Hades=Pluto) they're attitude was the biggest change. once they became Roman they became more strict and meaner.
