In the 1950s, men worked outside the home and women stayed home and took care of the children and home. There were no computers, cell phones, etc. Televisions were just becoming popular in the 1950s. Fast food restaurants were not created yet, and most cooking was done at home. Eating at a restaurant was an occasional treat. There were drive-in restaurants (like Sonic) and drive-in theaters. Teen pregnancy and abortion were not as common as today, and the belief that sex should wait until marriage was widespread.

There were no issues like global warming or chemtrials. School shootings were unheard of, and autism, ADD, AIDS, and other diseases were much, much less common than today, or even not heard of. Children were taught to respect their elders and spankings were acceptable.

In short, life was much less stressed back then and less complicated.
