how did aztec empire grow and become powerful
The Aztec empire was defeated because the Spanish had more power and money than the Aztecs did
They lived in mountainous regions
The Inca Empire was larger in terms of land area compared to the Aztec Empire, stretching across much of western South America, including parts of modern-day Peru, Ecuador, and Chile. In contrast, the Aztec Empire was primarily located in central Mexico. However, the Aztecs had a larger population density in their core region, particularly in their capital, Tenochtitlán. Both empires were significant in their respective regions, but the Incas had a more extensive territorial reach.
The answer to this is not clear-cut, as it depends how you define 'greatest power'. Nevertheless, we could say that the Aztec empire was at it's largest just before the Spanish conquest. Ahuitzotl was the eighth Aztec ruler, and under his reign (from 1486 to 1502), he more than doubled the area of land controlled by the Aztecs. His successor, Moctezuma II also made substantial land gains and, in fact, the empire reached it's maximal size under his rule. Moctezuma's rain is, however, coloured by his defeat at the hands of the Spanish, and is therefore not generally regarded as the greatest Aztec ruler.
War
The empire expanded because the empire ruled and battled to gain more land and land. Like a stake. Everytime a new emperor was chosen, they had to get more land then they currently had than before. Hope this helped you.
They live in the mountainous in Mexico. It was mostly central Mexico or a little more south.

Strong government, Advanced cities, Advanced technology, Empire building, flourishing culture
Honey, that would be Hernan Cortes. He waltzed right into the Aztec empire like he owned the place, causing all sorts of chaos and ultimately bringing about the downfall of the Aztec civilization. It was like a bad episode of reality TV, but with more conquistadors and less drama.
The Mayans where in about in the same area but more south.
