During the Crusades, noblewomen often managed estates while their husbands were away fighting. They took on responsibilities such as overseeing agricultural production, maintaining financial accounts, and ensuring the welfare of their households and dependents. Many noblewomen also engaged in diplomacy, negotiating alliances or managing communications. There are two reasons. The first reason is to show the great power of the pharaoh. For example, pyramid of Khufu (The Great Giza pyramid), is enormous. This is because Khufu wanted to show people that he was a great pharaoh with great powers. The second reason is to allow the king to go to the afterlife with ease. Deceased people needs food, water and to remember their face to go to the after life. Food and water was simply for eating and drinking during the adventure to the afterlife. They needed to remember their face to go to the afterlife.
The ancient Egyptians believed as the spirit was divided into two distinct parts the Ba and the Ka. The Ba was the part of the spirit that was needed for immortal life if it could pass a test of worth. The Ba was led by Anubis to be judge before Osiris. The heart was placed on the Ma`at scale and weighed against a feather. If the soul was light and just it was granted eternal life. If the soul was heavy and evil it would be cast to Ammit the soul eater. The soul needed the Ba and the Ka to united into the Akhu to enter the afterlife.

Religion that is Christianity was extremely important during the medieval period. People had a real fear of dying and going to hell to burn for eternity. As a result the church could 'blackmail' people into going on Crusade by saying that if you go on Crusade to Jerusalem you will automatically be forgiven all your sins. They also said that you would be forgiven any sins you commit in the future. People truly believe that they were to free Jerusalem from the 'infidels" so a lot of them willingly went on Crusade believing that they would do this great thing and be saved by God from being killed.
I don't want to answer this. Just want to point out that the meaning of crusade is a protest defending religion
