The Lydians invented the coin around 500 BC
150 bc
Second Century BCE.
Post a new question including the date on the coin and the denomination. Greece has had a very long history and a Greek coin could mean anything from a tetradrachm minted in 400 BC or a modern Greek Euro coin minted just yesterday.
To calculate the years between 150 BC and 1285 AD, we need to consider that there is no year zero. From 150 BC to 1 BC is 149 years, and from 1 AD to 1285 AD is 1284 years. Adding these together gives a total of 149 + 1284 = 1433 years between 150 BC and 1285 AD.
If the coin is dated "4 BC" it's a big-time fake. "BC" means "Before Christ" so no one would have known beforehand about Jesus to date a coin based on his birth.
It was the 2nd century BC.
What makes it fake is the date, the BC part.Because if the coin was really made in 55 BC, then Jesus Christ wasn't born yet. Then how could they say that they made it 55 years before Christ was born when they didn't know when he was going to be born?
