Though all the early rulers of Mauryan empire had great administrative arrangements but rule of Ashoka was most significant. He was first to start hospitals for both human as well as animals. He banned hunting and he himself stopped eating meat. He show his subjects as his own children and took their best care every time. He had made his officers to write his orders on rocks and pillars in language of common men so that everyone can understand them. He himself went to people to know about their problems and tried to solve them always.
Ashokahad a change in heart and passed laws to prevent cruelty to animals and humans.

from the time of ashokas father kalinga is the small kingdom which is not under their control they tried many atimes for it.
Asoka wanted to bring people into India. Asoka believed in Buddhas ways. Chandragupta had strong armies and he was a Hindu.there is a big difference between them. Ashoka wanted peace and be equal to everybody. chandragupta wanted to live a luxury life and he only gathered with rich people. Ashoka was very religuos but chandragupta was only interested in luxury. Ashoka had a small army so that less money would be spent on paying them. chandragupta had a huge army.
Ashoka attacked Kalinga because it was his fathers (Bindusara's) dream to conquer Kalinga. Also Ashokas empire had conquered all ports in India except the one in Kalinga so Ashoka wanted to conquer that port too.
