The Cyclops, named Polyphemus, was killed by Odysseus in Homer's "Odyssey." After getting Polyphemus drunk, Odysseus and his men blinded him by driving a sharpened stake into his eye. When Polyphemus called for help, he told others that "Nobody" was attacking him, allowing Odysseus and his men to escape from his cave the next day by hiding under the sheep as they were let out to graze. This clever plan ensured their survival and marked a significant moment in Odysseus's journey home.
Apollo killed the Cyclopes.
In the Odyssey, the 72 men were killed by the Cyclops named Polyphemus. Odysseus and his crew became trapped in the Cyclops' cave, and to escape, they blinded Polyphemus. As a result, the enraged Cyclops killed some of Odysseus' men as they were leaving the island.
The odds that he might be killed is pretty high, however he will eventually be killed if he does nothing.
Polyphemus the cyclops was the son of the sea god Poseidon. He killed and ate some of Odysseus' crew while they were imprisoned in his cave, and he was blinded by a burning tree trunk shoved in his single eye.
Only the Cyclops contains to strength required to move the massive boulder that's blocking the exit. If Odysseus killed the Cyclops, then Odysseus and the men in the cavern will starve to death.

Traditionally you shove a stake in their eye.

Yes, he killed and ate two of Odysseus' men.
Yes, a cyclopes is immortal, however if they are attacked they can be killed, but if they are not they can live forever
Yes: fire doesn't affect them. Not necessarily, Odysseus puts out the cyclops, Polyphemus' eye with a burning poker. Maybe the cyclops born of Gaia: resistant to fire, given that they forged weapons for the gods,
The cyclops (Polyphemus) has Odysseus and his men trapped in a cave. There is a large stone covering the entrance to the cave that is too big for Odysseus and his men to move. If he kills the cyclops, they will not be able to get out of the cave.
Odysseus does not kill the cyclops when he has the chance because if he does he and his men will perish to considering the cyclops is the only one strong enough to move the slab of rock covering the doorway to the cave.

Odysseus is a smart, smart man. If he had killed the cyclops then he and his men would have been trapped in the cyclops' cave forever. Remeber, he pushed a huge boulder in front of the door when he came in. If he had tried to kill him after he and his men escaped by hiding under the sheep then the cyclops would have cried out to his companions and all the rest of the Cyclopses would have come out and killed Odysseus, sunk his boat and killed his men. He is too smart to resort to violence right away... not like his companions in Troy.
