If you were a pharaoh, then you would have to take care of the country. You were chief judge and ruler of all Egypt. You collected taxes and a share of all that is grown (wheat, grain etc.).

The people of Egypt also thought that you were the living form of Osiris, a god. So, you were worshiped. And, if your mighty empire was in need of it, you would go to war.

You would live in a grand palace with tons of guards and servants. You had slaves that built your temples and statues. You would have a boat to go sailing down the Nile. Pharaoh's also were in charge of making sure the sun rose every day and the Nile flooded every year.

If you were pharaoh, then you were considered you holy. You could basically do anything that you wanted to.

Besides that? You would sit on your throne and give orders to your servants. You would eat and drink.

If you were pharaoh, your life would be grand.

Hope this helped.

By the way, this isn't everything. This is just the pros! The cons are a whole other story!

The first pharaoh Narmer declared himself pharaoh over Egypt. The next pharaoh would always be a man and would be of the pharaoh's bloodline. If the pharaoh died early, a male cousin, nephew, etc, would be the next pharaoh. If the only man related to the pharaoh was not approved, the pharaoh would pick a different person, not always of bloodline. Once, a man became a pharaoh just for digging out the Great Spinx. The pharaoh would be more important as he was of a higher social standing. If something were to happen to a pharaoh, a new ruler would have to be enthroned complete with the coronation events of the new ruler and the funeral rites and services for the old pharaoh. Slaves, on the other hand, were of little or no importance in the ancient world. If something happened to them, they, or their services would be missed, but would also be replaced.
