The first European explorer to visit modern-day Mexico was Hernán Cortés. He arrived in 1519 and led an expedition that ultimately resulted in the fall of the Aztec Empire. Cortés's encounters with indigenous civilizations marked the beginning of significant Spanish colonization in the region. His actions had lasting impacts on the history and culture of Mexico.
Cortez was thought to be god
first, the Europeans came in contact with the Aztec, because they wanted gold. When Hernando Cortez got there, he and his army were attacked by friends of the Aztec. after that happened, the got to Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec tribe. they fought a battle with the Aztec, but were then forced to flee. they came back 5 months later but most of the Aztec had already died from diseases the European brought over, so the European took over.**by the way this was made by a 6th grader.**

Hernando Cortes.
Yes. In fact most native people in the Americas died of European-introduced diseases. The best example is the Aztec civilization, thought to be defeated by Cortes and his men. The reality is that 80% of the Aztec civilization died of smallpox and Cortes defeated a much weakened foe.
The Aztec did not have a grounded religion. They worshiped what they thought were gods (sun, moon, lightning) and created their own ceremonies. No name was ever given to their religion.
