The Russian People thought that their leader, Tsar Nicholas II was all together not worthy of being the Autocratic Ruler of their motherland. They thought him incompetent, idiotic and insignificant.
Nicolas II
Because the people of Russia were tired of the Emperor, so Lenin and his Bolsheviks killed the Romanovs. Tsar Nicholas II and his family were killed because Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks did not want him to be captured from Bolshevik custody and put back on the throne by the White forces during the Russian Civil War. A contingent of the Czechoslovak Legion was known to be in the area at that time and looking to capture the Tsar from the Bolsheviks. Lenin decided the best way to prevent this would be to kill the entire family, especially Nicholas and his son Alexei so that the Tsar could not be put back on the throne and his son could not be declared the new Tsar.
An emperor was a tsar. It is also spelt czar. An empress was a tsarina. Also spelt czarina. Tsesarevich is the title given to the son of a tsar. And I know that the last tzar of Russia, Nicholas II, gave his daughters the title of dutchess.
Anastasia Romanov was the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicolas II and Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. She was born June 18 1901 and died July 17, 1918. It was long believed that she survived, but it is not true. The most famous impostor (there were several) of Anastasia was Anna Anderson, but her DNA was tested several times and does not match the Grand Duchess DNA. If you want to improve this answer feel free to do so, but PLEASE write facts and not something you have seen in a Disney movie or read in an unreliable source. When people ask questions they deserve to be told the truth. _______________________________________________ If Anna Anderson was Anastasia, the government or the " high people " of Russia would not want the people to know. Otherwise, they might have been a civil war to fight for Anna Anderson's rights. And, of course, the government would not want a civil war! Believe what you want to believe, but think about what I typed above.
She did not. It was the bolshevik's anger and hatred toward the entire family. Alexandra was a factor in causing the the Russian Revolution. She was of German origin and very aloof in her manner. She was never fully accepted or liked by the Russian people, especially when World War 1 with Germany started in 1914. Her dalliance with Rasputin where she allowed him to unduly influence decisions of the Tsar made many of the military, political and noble leaders angry toward her. The anger was so great that several nobles murdered Rasputin in order to be rid of him and his influence over Alexandra. It must be remembered that there were two revolutions in 1917, the February Revolution when the tsar abdicated and the October Revolution, when the Bolsheviks overthrew the succeeding Provisional Government. If anything, Alexandra only provided cause for the first revolution, meaning that the anger of the Bolsheviks was not truly an overriding factor. Their anger showed itself more in the October Revolution when they overthrew the Provisional Government than in the February Revolution when the tsar abdicated.
Grigori Rasputin was the adviser to Tsar Nicholas II's wife, Alexandra.
Tsar Nicholas was the last Tsar of Russia, who was murdered with his family during the Russian Revolution
Queen Victioria was described as "the Grandmama of Europe." Her grandchildren were Tsar Nicolas II of Russia, Kaiser Wihelm II and George V. Edward VII was Tsar Nicolas' uncle. Edward VII was George V's father. So I think that makes George, Nicolas and Wilhelm all cousins...... I hope I helped stranger ;)

She ruled Russia when she was married to Tsar Nicolas II. She was a princess in a part of Germany before.
The Romanovs were very powerful and the common people very weak and poor. It was not until Nicolas II became Tsar that they managed to really fight back.
