After the Cyclops Polyphemus throws the rock at Odysseus and his crew, they manage to escape from the cave by hiding under the sheep as Polyphemus lets them out to graze. Once they are safely at sea, Odysseus taunts the Cyclops, revealing his identity. This act of hubris leads Polyphemus to call upon his father, Poseidon, to curse Odysseus, causing further hardships on his journey home. Thus, Odysseus's encounter with the Cyclops sets off a series of challenges that prolongs his return to Ithaca.
Polyphemus throws a rock at Odysseus's ship and almost sinks it, but instead creates a wave sending Odysseus and his men away from the island
Just before the ship that helped Odysseus reaches shore, it is turned into a rock and sunk by Poseidon.
Jason and the Argonauts are mentioned to Odysseus by the sorceress Circe. Both of them are the only ones who have sailed through a treacherous rock line called the Wanderers.
because cyclops put a rock in the cave and nobody is strong enough to move it
He bloccks the entrance to the cave with a large rock. Don't forget he snacked on the men and said he'd eat Odysseus last because he gave him the wine....
A big rock.
Polyphemus throws a rock at Odysseus's ship and almost sinks it, but instead creates a wave sending Odysseus and his men away from the island
a rock to the head
Odysseus and his men do not kill the cyclops because they are trapped in the cave with only one way out, which is blocked by a massive rock that only the cyclops can move. If they kill him, they would remain stuck in the cave with no way to escape. Additionally, they fear retribution from the other cyclopes if they were to harm Polyphemus.
He can't kill the cyclops because only Polyphemus can move the rock to open the cave. So Odysseus decides to get him drunk then blind the cyclops. Odysseus then wraps himself under the sheep so he can reach outside without alerting the cyclops.
Odysseus tries to go home but, he and his men were cursed by one of the cyclopses on his journey home (this happened because when the cyclops started eating Odysseus's men so, he had to blind him with a rock). This effected him by Poseidon-the cyclops's father- made him and his comrades the hardest possible way to get to their homeland Ithaca.
