In Homer’s "The Odyssey," Odysseus gives his men beeswax to plug their ears so they cannot hear the enchanting song of the Sirens. This precaution prevents them from being lured to their doom by the Sirens' irresistible melodies. Meanwhile, Odysseus, curious to hear the song himself, has himself tied to the mast of the ship, instructing his men not to release him no matter how much he begs.
In Homer's "The Odyssey," Odysseus's men face various challenges during their journey home. Notably, they encounter the Cyclops Polyphemus, who captures them and begins to eat them one by one. Later, they encounter the Sirens, whose enchanting songs lure them to their doom. Ultimately, their disobedience, particularly in eating the cattle of the sun god Helios, leads to their demise, as Zeus punishes them by destroying their ship and drowning them.

The Sirens appear in Greek mythological literary works such as The Odyssey by Homer.
In the Odyssey, the sirens were mythical creatures who lured sailors to their doom with their enchanting voices. They tempted Odysseus and his crew by singing irresistible songs that promised knowledge and pleasure, causing the sailors to be drawn towards them despite the danger.
Impending doom doesn't sound like it is alive. God gives us all choices to do what we want and it is up to us to do the right thing. If we don't, impending doom will strike. Impending doom is more of a cause and effect between us and God.
Worry is a feeling, whereas doom is an event which might cause a feeling; these are not synonymous although they can have a causal relationship. the synonym to doom can be fate or disaster.
