The cyclops said that Odysseus will never reach his home land in Ithaca. ======================================================= Odysseus, the greek hero, according to Homer's epic poem, tried to return home with his men, after the fall of Troy. Their journey to Ithaca was full of adventures and lasted for ten years. At one stage they were captured by cyclops, a group of one-eyed, man-eater giants. They escaped by deceiving and blinding one of them, Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon, the sea god. Polyphemus cursed Odysseus and his men by imploring his father that they could never reach their home land, nor see their own home and friends again. But, if they still do, than "...let him come late, in evil plight, with all his comrades dead, in someone else's ship, and find troubles in his household."
