The Fields of Asphodel are part of Greek mythology. They are one of three main parts of the Greek underworld. The other two are Tartarus, which was reserved for extremely evil people, and Elysian Fields, which very good people went. Asphodel Fields is where the normal, neutral people went once they died. It was just a giant wasteland basically.
In the afterlife, the Greeks believed your soul went to the Underworld, where Hades and his wife, Persephone live. There are some very special peopl that then determine where you can stay for the rest of your (dead) life. The Field of Ashphodel is one of the many places where you can stay, but only people who have been good and bad can be there
They are believed by the Greeks the place where you go after you die if you did not do good or evil, in other words even.

Hades lived in the Underworld. The Underworld is split into three parts, The Fields of Asphodel, Elysium, and Tartarus. The Fields of Asphodel were reserved to people who were like you or me, neither good nor bad. Just imagine a gray cornfield...that's what Asphodel is. Elysium was reserved for heroes and such, while Tartarus was the exact opposite. It was pretty much the Greek equivalent of hell.

No, it is not. The asphodel was the flower said to fill the plains of Hades, the Greek underworld. As it was considered the favourite food of the dead, the Ancient Greeks would often plant it near graves. The asphodel was sacred to Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, who was forcefully taken to the underworld by Hades.
