∙ 14y agoQueen Victoria Queen Victoria ruled what was the Victorian Age. She was born in the year 1819 in London, England. She was crowned queen when she was just eighteen years old in 1837. After ruling for about sixty-four years, she passed away in 1901, ending the Victorian Age. Victorian Fashion Fashion during the Victorian age was elaborate, yet concealed. The rise in the economy in England during this period allowed the common family to afford these clothes. Cloth was also made easier and cheaper during these times. This was the first era where sewing machines were used to create a mass of products at one time. When Queen Victoria died, it was said that her styles died with her, for the 20th century brought more simple clothing. Victorian Architecture During the Victorian age, many families had to live in homes. The English believed in a lot of different architectural ideas. They had houses that were built like the one in this picture, where there are many windows, detailed designs, thick walls, and much more. They included balconies and chimneys special too. When they would build big monuments, spiritual places, churches, and other public places, they might build much differently. The English would use dome roofs, place characters and detailed objects on the walls; they could even make beautiful glass windows. All this and more was considered a specialty with English architecture, whether it was in an urban or a rural area. Victorian Education Education in the Victorian times was very different from the modern time today. You would see a small school house like the one in this picture, one teacher, and maybe one hundred kids in one classroom. These classes were very small, and the discipline was stricter.
