What was the Odysseus about?

Odyssey = really long boat trip after a war. Main character is Odysseus, he won the battle of Troy and was a well sung hero. He gets lost at sea and runs into numerous monsters and other obstacles along the way and is gone for 20 years. While he's away men are courting his wife who refuses to marry cause she believes he's still alive. He has a son, who grew up without him and doesn't recognize him when he finally does get home. Odysseus and his son then kill all the suitors except for 2 of the nicer ones.
