Possibly from a Tom Robbins novel called Skinny Legs and All. It was published in 1990. First line in the prelude is "This is the room of the wolfmother wallpaper." The phrase occurs periodically throughout the book in abstract passages. Don't know if that is where they got it from, but its a strong possibility seeing as i have yet to come across any earlier use of 'wolfmother' as a single compound word. I was actually looking to find out if Mr. Robbins got it from somewhere else, and if so what was is significance. In fact, i have been unable to find it to find it anywhere else at all, and the band clogs all the search engines when you try a search. Anyone else have anything?
