I do not know that the cyclops did anything as revenge, but in the book the Odyssey ,it explains that the Cyclops' father , the god Poseidon, is angry at Odysseus and will not let Odysseus return to his country, whereas the other gods take pity on him.
Since Poseidon was Polyphemus' father, when Odysseus blinded Polyphemus, Poseidon was angered at Odysseus.

Polyphemus blames his death on "Nobody" and his friends. "Nobody" is what Odysseus tells him his name is. When Polyphemus tells his friend that Nobody is killing him they don't believe him. They take it as no one is killing him. They say Poseidon (their father) has sent the plague to him. His friends tell him to pray to their father!

Well there was a smithy race of Cyclopes whose parent were Gaea (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Father Sky), they were bound in the Underworld by their father for their ugliness, but in later myth Poseidon was the father of the Cyclops, Polyphemus, who Odysseus killed.There is more than one cyclops, and they have different fathers. The original three Cyclopes were sons of Ouranos (Uranus) and Gaea. He was so appalled by his offspring, and fearful of their great size, that he imprisoned them in Tartarus.The other well known Cyclops was Polyphemus, the cyclops shepherd that trapped Odysseus and his crew, devouring them. That Cyclops was an offspring of Poseidon.
