marpessa is granddaughter of Ares and she was married to Idas..Apparently, there was a fight between Apollo and Idas because Apollo kidnapped her .

After hours of non-stop fighting with no results at the end, Zeus told them to let Marpessa decide for herself who she wanted to choose as her husband..so she choses Idas because he wasnt a god..she's afraid that if she dies , a god that lives forever would not stay tru to her and be by her side all the time after she dies...and Apollo promised he wouldnt disturbed their marriage again
