No one did. Kronos, his father, ate him so that no one could over throw him but gods are immortal so he didn't die. Others were eaten too. Zeus was switched out with a stone baby so he couldn't get eaten. When he got older Kronos ate him because Zeus came back to defeat him. Zeus pulled a herb out of his belt and it made Kronos throw up all his other kids. Demeter landed in a field, Poseidon in water (etc.) and Hades in a crater that he made when he landed. Basically he grew up in his fathers stomach. Kronos was cut up into tiny peaces and guarded by his 3 mutant brothers and sister.
